I listen to a song for like a thousand times but I still cant remember the lyrics, why is that?

Could there be something wrong with me? Is my memory that bad? What can I do to improve my memory? Why cant I remember lyrics to a song when I listen to it repeatly? Could this be a medical problem? Please help.

OMG ! I thought I was the only one !





My memory is foul ! I forget peoples names and faces that I meet each day so fast, that if they were to change clothes and come by me a few hours later, i will re-introduce myself.





I constantly lose my keys. I cant even re-trace my steps to find them .They are GONE !.





Same with the songs ! %26gt; I find that when I'm taking diet pills and energy drinks it make my memory 120% worse . So While I cannot tell you how to increase your memory . I cant assure you that you should lay off energy drinks and diet pills if you are having problems in that area.

I remember friends phone numbers from years ago but I can never sing a song and get past the first two lines or the chorus. I remember other things and details ok but I'm seriously no good with lyrics. I've just accepted it.
Reply:I think your not just really interested,why don`t you try first humming.To improve your memory,before going to bed put a small cube of sugar and melt it.
Reply:I get that too, I get a song in my head but it's only the tune. I think it's because when you hear a chorus it's repeated, whereas a verse is only sung once.
Reply:it sounds to me like you are trying to hard to make yourself remember you are not focusing on the song itself...

put the song on and walk around the house etc..


or just put it on in the background when u have some friends round...





if there are other things...like peoples name, places etc u cant remember get checked out xxx
Reply:hmm for me it's the opposite,i remember the lyrics to like every song i hear after hearing it only like twice.when i turn on the radio i can sing almost every single song that comes on completely.Well anyway it doesn't sound like any major problem,maybe you remember other things better like numbers?
