What company is the best one to send song lyrics or poetry to.?

I would like to know an honest place to send song lyrics to. I've written every since I can remember an I have always dreamed of hearing one of my songs on the radio, even if it's just one. But I'm afraid I'll get ripped off, plus it's scary having someone rate what you've written. So if anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate any info.

Thanks

First thing you need to do is mail the lyrics to your self, perhaps through registered mail. When you receive your own lyrics in the mail, DON'T OPEN THE ENVELOPE!! That way, it's copyrighted, and nobody can rip them off from you. Second, try sending them to some of the major company's, Capitol records, Warner brothers, etc. Of course, this will depend on the nature of the lyrics. Just search the web and find the mailing address of a respectable record company. You might get shot down a few times, but just believe in yourself and you'll be fine!! Good luck, and I hope that your dream someday becomes a reality!
Reply:Write to the US Copyright Office and ask

for a "copyright Kit". To Copyright is very cheap.

Do it right. Report It

Reply:To send yourself your own lyrics is not proof enough to register them as yours. Get the kit from the US Copyright and do it the legal way. is not expensive.

Do not send your demos to record companies without first talk to them, sometimes they reject them if unsolicited, Report It

Reply:You need to check out Taxi.com. I hate to tell you this, but if you did try to send your stuff to the bigger labels, they won't look at it. It would be "unsolicited material." I'm speaking from experience, my husband is signed, and there's no easy way to get there:-) Report It
