Is it illegal to read song lyrics online?

Or listen to a song, or watch video clips on the internet?

Is it illegal to read song lyrics online?
It is legal to read lyrics, listen to songs and watch video clips on-line. It is not legal to keep some mp3 music downloaded on your computer for more than 24-48 hours. Sites like myspace will have a lot of music you can listen to on band pages. You tube has many video clips including shows from TV and music videos. Even if people add illegal content to these websites, it is still legal to view or listen to the content, but not to put illegal content on the site yourself. http://launch.yahoo.com has the worlds largest collection of music videos and much music. You can listen to the music via the website the free program or Yahoo! Messenger.
Reply:nope. if it was, there would be a lot of people in trouble.
Reply:no, where did you get that idea from
Reply:Reading, Listening or watching copyrighted material would not be illegal. But the Distribution or publishing of copyrighted material would be for sure. I know there are some court cases on this and the decision hasn't been made in some cases. The reason for my answer is simple you have no way of knowing if the material is copyrighted until after you have read it, heard it or seen it. Bottomline. And if they rule against my decision take it to a higher court ;)
Reply:nope.
Reply:No, it is not illegal.

Now, if you listen to a song, or watch a video because you downloaded it, then that's illegal. If you're watching off a website, then is not.
Reply:Nope
Reply:Uh, no. If it was, I would probably be in jail by now!
