In some adds for putting music to something you have written some of the places ask for song lyrics and some ask for poems to add music to it. I just wondered what the difference is?
What is the difference between song lyrics and poems for songs?
In reality, it's semantics. The only difference may be whether or not the tune has been written alreay or not. I. E. I can listen to a piece with the music already composed then write lyrics to fit the music; or..write a poem, then try to feel the music that would best fit both the meaning and emotion of the song
