What song lyrics transport you to a different time and place?

Here's my answer:

Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a dodge

Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain

What song lyrics transport you to a different time and place?
Standin' on your mama's porch

You told me that you'd wait forever

Oh and when you held my hand

I knew that it was now or never

Those were the best days of my life

There is no pain, you are receding.

A distant ships smoke on the horizon.

You are only coming through in waves.

Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.

When I was a child I had a fever.

Out of the corner of my eye.

The child is grown, the dream is gone.

What R/B group has the lyrics (and the scent of (her or your) perfume.) in it? I really want this song!!?

Song Lyrics from what I think is a R/B Group not sure. I just have that little bit of lyrics from it and I am not sure what song it is. I have heard it on the radio before. I would love to know!

What R/B group has the lyrics (and the scent of (her or your) perfume.) in it? I really want this song!!?
Without more lyrics it's pretty tought.

Could it be Boyz II Men's 4 Seasons of Loneliness

Chorus

In comes the winter breeze

That chills the air and drifts the snow

And I imagine kissing you under the mistletoe

When springtime makes its way here

Lilac blooms reminds me of the scent of your perfume

When summer burns with heat

I always get the hots for you

Go skinny dippin' in the ocean where we used to do

When autumn sheds the leaves the trees are bare

When you're not here it doesn't feel the same

Remember the nights when we closed our eyes

And vowed that you and I would be in love for all time

Anytime I think about these things is shared with you

I break down and cry 'cause I get so emotional

Until you release me I'm bound under ball and chain

Reminiscing our love as I watch four seasons change

How can I find out what song lyrics mean?

I'm looking for a general reference for various songs, and what the artist wrote them about.

How can I find out what song lyrics mean?
Well you can try www.songmeanings.net. Its more of a forum site so its more discussion than from the artist themselves. However sometimes a die hard fan will be able to bring up interview facts, etc. there especially if the song is a hit. They have A TON of artists and the lyrics are included too. Good luck!

How do I put lyrics to a song as my layout for myspace?

I see on some people's myspace, they have like pretty glittery words as their background/layout, some people have lyrics. Anyways I really want lyrics to a song. Is there any kind of generator that will do that or any website???

How do I put lyrics to a song as my layout for myspace?
Thats a good idea

You need to first make this text into a picture and then upload it to a online picture site (photobucket, imageshack) then post it in your about me section as a background picture

I can convert the .TXT into a picture just email me the lyrics at hines.kenneth@gmail.com

Or you can convert it if you have Adobe Professional

Song Lyrics as Texts for Study?

My friend's children go to a small private school, and all the parents take turns presenting different lessons as an aid to the teachers. My friend has chosen to teach two sessions on song lyrics as texts, and not merely words set to music. She asked me to help her pick some songs.

What she is looking for are songs that tell a story, preferably something tied to real life. She wants lyrics from the 60s and 70s to minimize the chances that the children have already been exposed to them. The first week she will work with three different songs, playing the songs and then analyzing the lyrics as texts. The second week she will assign "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel and "It's the End of the World As We Know It" by REM, and have the children look up all the references in the songs.

Song Lyrics as Texts for Study?
You don't say how old the kids are, so that makes it difficult. A number of early Bob Dylan songs tell stories and have lyrics that are full of meaning. Try "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll", a song about a rich white young man who mindlessly murders a black restaurant worker, the mother of ten children...the young man gets six months, because his parents have connections. Another good one is "Only a Pawn in Their game", about the murder of Medgar Evers. These are all from the 60s. Gordon Lightfoot has a number of songs that tell stories: "Black Day in July", a song about the 1967 Detroit race riots; "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", the true story of a shipwreck on Lake Superior, and "Ballad of Yarmouth Castle, another shipwreck story; the latter two are from the 70s. "Canadian Railroad Trilogy" (from the 60s) is also good but likely not of interest outside of Canada.
Reply:Depending on the age of the students some of the songs of "Pearl Jam: deal with social issues such as child abuse

" Don't Call Me Daughter" and spousal abuse. " Better Man".

This sounds a little to dark in terms of themes.

It is probably better to stick to songs that reflect the events of an era. There have been many fine suggestions made by the others. I could add "Simon and Garfunkel" eg The Boxer
Reply:Some ideas... First off, anything by Harry Chapin, as he is a noted singer/story teller from the 70's. His most famous song was "Cat's in the Cradle". Another idea might be Vicki Lawrence's "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia". A less traditional 'story', Don McCLean's "American Pie" gives the entire history of rock and roll and is very rich in symbolism. Your best bet might be the inspiring "One Tin Soldier" by Coven, from the film "The Legend of Billy Jack". It's a fable and would be perfect for school kids. (BTW, what grade are the kids in?) Hope this helps!

What do you think of this these song lyrics?

A Lady's Lament

Hey, ho, The tides rolls in.

I have lost my love again.

He has sailed across the sea.

What will become of me?

I stand here talking to the sea.

Will she bring him back to me?

Day by day she tells her lies.

Night by night my spirit dies.

So it goes throughout the years.

As the end of my life nears.

No answer comes, she does not care.

She acts like I'm not even there.

The sea she's claimed my own true love.

But I've had words from up above.

Dreams come to me upon the wind.

Last words from him that he did send.

"My love, love the sea she would not wait.

So I'll meet you up at heaven's gate.

Where I'll claim you back again."

Hey, ho, Fiddly-I-O.

The tide rolls in again my friend.

Hey, ho, Fiddly-I-O.

Hey, ho, Fiddly -I-O!

What do you think of this these song lyrics?
You are a bit of a fool to post uncopyrighted material. Anyone can still them you know. That being said, they seem good but need work I think.
Reply:I dont know really what I think guess I need to hear you say it
Reply:They first struck me as somewhat trite, a superficial treatment of a serious subject.

Somewhere around the 3rd verse, they gained enough depth to be worth writing about.

Most good song lyrics also work as poetry. These don't, but they may be salvageable as song lyrics. It would take a vocal artist who can see beyond just hitting the notes to make this work, but it could work.
Reply:pretty good....keep it up!!
Reply:I don't know about others but I thought it was awesome. Tell me when you make an album. I want it.
Reply:PRETTY GOOD!! YOU HAVE TALENT%26gt;
Reply:I am just sincerely hoping you know how utterly stupid, inane, thoughtless these answers were to your question.

My answer? Decent control of rhyme, not great. Average, actually. Third from last stanza, rhyme was forced. Language a bit archaic. what you tried to do in the last stanza, as a bookend to the first, it didn't really work. There wasn't enough in the middle to carry it through and make it feel authentic to the reader.

Advice? Humm. You probably can write better than this. I'd keep at it. You need focus.
Reply:it's a really great song! but i think you should add a chorus part, but only if you want.by the way great song!

Where can I find the lyrics %26amp; music to song 'Beautiful, Beautiful Copenhagen'?
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen

Friendly old girl of a town

'Neath her tavern light

On this merry night

Let us clink and drink one down

To wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen

Salty old queen of the sea

Once I sailed away

But I'm home today

Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful

Copenhagen for me

I sailed up the Skagerrak

And sailed down the Kattegat

Through the harbor and up to the quay

And there she stands waiting for me

With a welcome so warm and so gay

Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen

Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen

Friendly old girl of a town

'Neath her tavern light

On this merry night

Let us clink and drink one down

To wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen

Salty old queen of the sea

Once I sailed away

But I'm home today

Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful

It's actually very simple to set yourself up as a publisher. You'll need to give yourself a name, buy some ISBN numbers, and register with Lightning Source, Inc. if you want to do print on demand, and Amazon Advantage.

I was involved in the process and actually published an ebook about doing this, but it wasn't a huge success. I'm not real sure if I can easily locate the file...

good luck.. it's possible, and it's possible to figure it out all by yourself, too.

What do you think of the song lyrics of "Chicken Noodle soup"?

I think it is so weird. The first time I heard it a few days ago, I was like "what? what kind of song is that?" It sounds absolutely horrible and some of the worst lyrics ever, in my opinion. "Chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side". That line yet weird and horrible makes me laugh a little bit cause it's so strange and out there.

omg! i was wondering when someone was going to ask about this song. the first time i saw it i lauged a lot. i have to admit the song is stupid but funny. and the dance is even funnier. i asked my mom if she would ever buy the cd and she said no. it is a really stupid song and shows you where the world is coming to know. i mean, a song about chicken noodle soup? is this like the theme song for Campbells ?

Have You Forgotten?

by daryl worley

I hear people saying we don't need this war

I say there's some things worth fighting for

What about our freedom and this piece of ground

We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down

They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in

Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?

To see your homeland under fire

And her people blown away

Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.

Said it's too disturbing for you and me

It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say

If it was up to me I'd show it everyday

Some say this country's just out looking for a fight

After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?

To see your homeland under fire

And her people blown away

Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers

Who've gone away to war

And you can bet that they remember

Just what they're fighting for

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?

To see your homeland under fire

And her people blown away

Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten all the people killed?

Some went down like heros in that Pennsylvania field

Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?

All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on

Don't you tell me not to worry about bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?

Reply:Operator, can you help me place this call

You see the number on the matchbook is old and faded

She's living in L.A. With my best old ex-friend Ray

A guy she said she knew well and sometimes hated

Isn't that the way they say it goes but let's forget about that

Give me the number if you can find it

So I can call just to tell them I'm fine and to show

I've overcome the blow, I've learned to take it well

I only wish my words would just convince myself that it just wasn't real

But that's not the way it feels

Operator, could you help me place this call

Cause I can't read the number that you just gave me

There's something in my eyes

You know it happens every time

I think about a love that I thought would save me

Operator, let's forget about this call

There's no one there I really wanted to talk to

Thank you for your time

Cause you been so much more than kind

And you can keep the dime.

Reply:When it comes to witty, poetic and meaningful lyrics, I'd defy anybody to do better than the Rainmakers. Among my favourites are Spite, which is on the first link, and includes this little note:

I seen dreams die, seen folks hated

seen the devil's slogans spray-painted

seen figures of authority saying bad is good

I seen the 6 o'clock news in my own neighborhood

in spite of everything

it's pretty good to be alive

And Siamese Twins, which is on the second link and includes this passage:

This is the story of siamese twins

How a man can be two places at once

When he's home with his lover he's away

Viewing through a two-way mirror

Everything's skewing into distorted visions

Of women-for-men

Coke-bottle lenses for the siamese twins

"I used to have this girlfriend known as Elsie,

With whom I shared four sordid rooms in Chelsea.

She wasn't what you'd call a blushing flower -

As a matter of fact, she rented by the hour.

The day she died the neighbours came to snicker

"Well, that's what comes from too much pills and liqour!"

But when I saw her laid out like a Queen,

She was the Happiest corpse I'd ever seen!

I think of Elsie to this very day,

I remember how she'd smile at me and say ...

What good is sitting all alone in your room?

Come! Here the music play!

Life iS a Cabaret old chum!

So, come to the Cabaret!

And as for me, and as for me,

I made my mind up, back in Chelsea,

When I goooooooooo,

I'm going like Elsie!

Start by admitting from cradle to tomb,

It isn't that long a stay!

Life is a Cabaret old chum.

It's only a Cabaret old chum!

And I love A CABARET"

oops got carried away there! Was singing it in time to my typing. Have to find the CD and put it on, right now!

Is it legal to change the lyrics to a copyrighted song and to perform it publically?

My school puts on a concert every year called "Expressions" where we perform pop and rock songs in front of lots of people. The show is for all ages, and when the lyrics to a song are questionable we often change a word or two. For example in Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" we might want to change the line "my old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys" to "my old man's funky like a barrel full of monkeys". Is making and performing such a change legal under U.S. Copyright law?

Is it legal to change the lyrics to a copyrighted song and to perform it publically?
dont worry dude your not trying to sell copies of anything and your not trying to profit from performing, id say no worries
Reply:Performances at educational institutions fall into a gray area of copyright law. The doctrines of "fair use" allow schools to make copies for the purposes of education and criticism, but these doctrines don't always apply in every school setting (such as performing a song during a school fundraiser.)

The rights to perform songs are generally administered by performance rights groups like ASCAP and BMI; however, those organizations fully admit that they tend to be lax with enforcing those rights with school groups (however, they do encourage schools to sign up with them to pay blanket licenses where for a low annual fee, the school gets the right to perform any songs by licensed artists.)

Finally, groups that administer theatrical performance licenses (such as amateur licensing groups like MTI and Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization) tend to include in their contracts clauses that prohibit schools from making lyrics changes; however, ASCAP and BMI usually do not include such clauses in their contracts.

So the answer to you question is "it's not entirely clear, but schools do this anyway and tend to get away with it."
Reply:Your adaptation to 'clean up' the lyrics would likely be looked over because of the intent.

Are you making / distributing / selling copies of it? If so, get professional advise before committing the school to responsibility to account for in the future.
Reply:completely LEGAL look at weird al yankovick... hes made a career of EXACTLY that
Reply:the difference between this and weird al is:

1 - weird al's aim is parody, which is a protected fair use.

2 - we don't really know what if any licensing fees weird al pays.

ask your school to consult their attorneys to decide if they feel this falls under fair use - it may fall under educational exceptions.

What is the song with lyrics like "dipping the chip" sung by a woman?

We are planning a party for a coworker, there is this song, only a couple years old (similiar to Kelis' Milkshake song) - the lyrics include something like "dip the chip in it" ?? Does this ring a bell for anyone? The lead vocal is also a woman. And clearly, the song is about sex...thank you.

I honestly have no idea what the song was, my first though was Snoop Dog's "We Want the Funk", but supposedly the song I am seeking is sung by a woman.

Where can I find a onesie with song lyrics on it?

My friend is having a baby and I wanted to get her a onesie that says "Dontcha wish your mommy was hot like mine?" And I have no clue where to look.

Where can I find a onesie with song lyrics on it?
go buy a onesie and stencil it on the onesie urself. It'll be just like u want it and cheaper in the long run for u. You can bring a onesie to a t-shirt print shop and they can do it for u too. They may be able to even embroidered it on it for u.
Reply:Try spencers or hot topics...they usually have stuff like that. you could also just have one made anywhere that does screen tees.
Reply:hmm i've actually never heard of a onesie with song lyrics on it i don't know if they make them.
Reply:i saw that exact onesie at spencers!
Reply:You can design your own at cafepress.com
Reply:There's always embroidery. It can be fun but you have to be able to print well first, and have a lot of time and patience. As the years go by, my supply of both diminishes.
Reply:Probably somewhere like Hot Topic, Spencer Gifts, or FYE.

They usually sell things like that.
Reply:Heres a website where you can ordre one, http://www.customink.com/p/0037/index.ht...
Reply:You could get one made at a tshirt store or make it yourself. There is this paper stuff you print on your computer then iron it on the clothes. They have it at WALMART

What is a song with lyrics that could describe the brain functions?

Like the visual cortex allows you to see, the auditory cortex allows you to hear, the olfactory cortex allows you to smell and is involved with memory and emotions, wernicke's area is involved with speech, somatosensory cortex is identifies the body region being stimulated, and the somatic motor cortex is responsible for all voluntary movement. Those are some of the brain functions, could you please help me come up with a song or songs that use all the brain functions?

Thanks in advance.

Looking for Song Lyrics to a comedy song that goes "I wear the pants in my family . . . when she lets me."

It might be by Rev. Billy C. Wirtz or some one similar. It is a song that goes on and on with funny lyrics about a man and wife where he brags about running the house, but is very cuckoled. Usually something you would hear on morning radio.

Looking for Song Lyrics to a comedy song that goes "I wear the pants in my family . . . when she lets me."
The Man Song by Rodney Carrington

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Man Song!

(He's the man!)

(He's the man!)

I don't take no crap from anybody

[else but you]

I wear the pants around here

[when I finish with your laundry]

Coz I'm a guy you don't wanna fight

[When I say "Jump", you say "Yeah right!"]

I'm the man of this house

[until you get home]

(He's the man!)

(He's the man!)

What I say goes around here

[right out the window]

and I don't wanna hear a lot of whining

[so I'll shut up]

The sooner you learn who's Boss around here

[The sooner you can give me my orders, dear]

Coz I'm Head-Honcho around here

[but it's all in my head]

(He's the man!)

(He's the man!)

And I can have sex anytime

[that you want it]

Coz I'm a man who has needs

[but there not that important]

And don't expect any flowers from me

[Coz if I'm not mistaken you prefer jewelry]

I'm the King of my castle

[when you're not around]

(He's the man!)

(He's the man!)

And I'll drink and watch sports whenever I wanna

[get in trouble]

And I'll come home when I'm good and ready

[to sleep on the couch]

Coz a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do

[And I'm gonna do what you tell me to]

Because I'm Top dog around here

[but I've been neutered]

(He's the man!)

(He's the man!)

(You the man!)

Start by going to their website to get contact information of their publicity staff. Write the publicity person a nice letter letting them know what you would like to do and asking how to proceed.

Where can I find the lyrics to the song "Songs for Old Lovers" by Jacques Brel?

More specfically, I am looking for the English lyrics currently being used in the off-Broadway revival.

I have tried yahoo and google and all I have come up with is the original French or another translation. And the show's official site doesn't have lyrics posted for this song.

Thanks!

The Song of Old Lovers

Of course we've had our storms,

a twenty-year love, that's love full strength!

A thousand times you picked up your suitcase,

a thousand times I flapped my wings

and every piece of furniture remembers,

in this room without a cradle,

the outbursts of the old hurricanes,

nothing looked liked nothing anymore,

you might have lost the taste for water

and I the taste for conquests!

But my love,

my sweet, my tender, my marvelous love,

from the clear dawn to the end of day,

I love you still, you know, I love you!

(x2)

I know all your magic spells,

you know all my magic tricks,

you have kept me in trap after trap,

I lost you from time to time.

Of course, you took a few lovers,

one must pass the time,

needs be, the body must exult!

And in the end, in the end

we needed a lot of talent

to grow old and not become adult.

Oh, my love,

my sweet, my tender, my marvelous love,

from the clear dawn to the end of day,

I love you still, you know, I love you!

(x2)

And the more time is our escort,

the more time is our torment.

But is not the worst trap of all

for lovers to live in peace?

Of course, you cry a bit less soon,

I tear up a bit less fast,

we protect less our mysteries,

we leave less to chance,

we mistrust the course of water,

but it still remains - the tender war!

Oh, my love,

my sweet, my tender, my marvelous love,

from the clear dawn to the end of day,

I love you still, you know, I love you!

What would be the best way to frame song lyrics that are written on lined paper?

First of all, spray the paper the lyrics are written on with something that's called Archival Mist. This will take out the acidicity of the paper and will neutralize its PH value. (helps prevent aging of the lyrics).

Second, it the paper is light colored, mount it on a dark background (preferrable acid free) so nothing will show through that's on the back. I recommend matting the lyrics so the glass does not sit directly on it. Make sure the matte(s)are acid free. Cheaper paper mattes are made from wood pulp and they will eventually "eat" away your paper. the more expensive acid free mattes are made from cotton and are naturally ph neutral. The mattes will absorb any moistures that is in the air and also help the paper to breathe.

Then, glass choice... you have regular glass, regular non-glare glass and then archival glass and archival non-glare... the first two are okay, but I would use archival glass since it filters out damaging uv rays.

Finally, put on a nice dustcover... that is also available in an acid free form

What would be the best way to frame song lyrics that are written on lined paper?
Hello, well first let me ask, "Does it have to be on that particular paper?" If not and it's something you cherish and want to keep, I would either redo it on a paper of your choice, you can put a lined paper behind the one you are writing on to keep writing straight or have someone (like me) do it in Calligraphy for you. Or if it does have to stay on that paper for some reason, you can carefully burn just the edges of the paper to give it an old look and then glue it on a colored piece or some kind or paper or better yet onto parchment paper and then frame it. Good luck on what you decide. ;o)
Reply:go to dollar tree and buy a document frame for a dollar...cheap and they look good
Reply:Mount it to acid neutral backing without adhesive, use acid neutral mat too.

♥ Can you write a little story that includes 6 of these song lyrics?

1. If I fell in love with you.

2. Your song will fill the air.

3. Sorrow lingers, shadows only fill the empty room.

4. Heartstrings hold tighter than the roots of a live oak tree.

5. Close your eyes and think of me.

6. I saw an angel, of that I'm sure.

7. 'Cause you seem to understand the urgency.

8. Take these broken wings and learn to fly.

9. Romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride.

10. Comfort me through all this madness.

♥ Can you write a little story that includes 6 of these song lyrics?
"Dear God", I prayed through sobs of pain and loss, as I read the last letter you wrote. I remember thinking, if I fell in love with you(1), that your song will fill the air(2) and enfold my mind and heart. Your first line was. "Close your eyes and think of me."(5) And I did just that. You explained how lonely and scared all of you were. You told me of the injuries and deaths in your platoon. You told me how sorrow lingers, shadows only fill the empty room,(3) when, at last, you try to sleep. You told me how much you cherished any news from home and how heartstrings hold tighter than the roots of a live oak tree.(4) You begged, "Comfort me through all this madness,(10) 'cause you seem to understand the urgency."(7)

And I sent you my love and I prayed that you would be protected before you set out on that last road. And, John, I saw an angel, of that I'm sure. I knew that you'd be coming home.(6) And though, romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride,(9) I have gone beyond petty dreams. I am here for you, for as long as you want me. Here, John, let me help you with these crutches. I am stronger than I look.

Let 's, you and I, take these broken wings and learn to fly.(8)

Because together, we can do anything. I love you.

C. :)!!
Reply:Good lyrics made it easy. I am encouraged. Thanks, so much. Char Report It

Reply:"Your song will fill the air," she said, "When it's time for you to be wed. But if I told you 'I love you too' I'd ultimately just leave you feeling blue."

"Close your eyes and think of me," I burst into song, albeit quite lamely. "Just try it and I'm sure you'll see, 'cause you seem to understand the urgency."

"I saw an angel, of that I'm sure," she said, eyes downcast and demure. "But heartstrings hold tighter than the roots of a live oak tree and just between you and me, I'd really prefer to just go play Yahtzee."

I gave up then, I'm not sure why. Maybe she's right, I'm not her guy. "Take these broken wings and learn to fly, yeah right, therapy guru," I thought with a broken-hearted sigh.

Sorrow lingers, shadows only fill the empty room that once was filled with her unique va-va-va-VOOM! "Comfort me through all this madness, God," I thought. "Teach me the way out through this tangled web I've wrought."

Romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride you see. Do I try and fail it once again, or keep wallowing in what's already been?

Just then I saw her - she must've been God-sent. At the very least - her looks! Her heavenly scent! I sent a heartfelt thanks God's way, and sorted through pickup lines for the150th time that day.

Reply:Unfortunately, I'm not that poetic.

I can barely make rhymes, ain't that pathetic?

I've seen better poets'n me in hobos roaming the alleys.

Or small furry mammals uttering gibberish in valleys.

My abilities were harvested by studying "The Cat in the Hat."

And Weird Al songs like "Eat it" or "Fat."

Wait, I just realized I made a poem right here.

I must have gotten drunk, due to too much beer.

Hahaha. Actually, I'm not drunk. But "beer" rhymes nicely.
Reply:I need to "Take these broken wings and learn to fly." For "I saw an angel, of that I'm sure, That can comfort me through all this madness." And "If I fell in love with you" it wouldn't matter for my "Heartstrings hold tighter than the roots of a live oak tree. So "Close your eyes and think of me" and "Your song will fill the air."
Reply:Romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride. Cause you seem to understand the urgency, I will explain. Close your eyes and think of me; and as sorrow lingers, shadows only fill the room. You see, if I fell in love with you, only YOUR song would fill the air. You are that kind of person. You could even take THESE broken wings and learn to fly. Amidst all this insanity, it is you that will always comfort me through all this madness. When we met I saw an angel, of that I'm sure. My heartstrings hold tighter than the roots of a live oak tree to the notion that you are my soulmate; my one true love. I love you now and forever! There, I said it!

Edit: Sorry I broke the rules, but it was so much fun that I used them all!!
Reply:i would say something like this:

if i fell in love with you, your song will fill the air close your eyes and think of me 'cause you seem to understand the urgency, take these broken wings and learn to fly cause romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride.

Song lyrics?
i could not find any songs by that name by McFly, but i found that Ratt, Angela Bofill, and Dingdong Avanzado sing a song with that name. But you can try going to www.letssingit.com and you can search for a song by typing in lyrics words, artist/singer name, album name, or song name.

Song Lyrics?

How do you quote song lyrics? Like for an example, the song lyrics are "You were meant for me"

And in an essay, would I quote it using italics or quotes?

For example, my essay would be:

In her song, she states "you were meant for me". This refers to etc etc.

am i quoting it right?

Song Lyrics?
Technically, you can use either one or the other. It is more common to use quotes as you have done. It would be better to say in your example: She states in her song, " You were meant for me" which refers to... This is clearer, grammatically correct and does not have two commas which make it harder to read. (Versus your: In her song, she states," You were meant for me"...) The word "which" improves the clarity of the sentence. I hope you found this to be of help.
Reply:Yes my dear. You are .......
Reply:honestly I would use both
Reply:yes that looks alright to me. :)

Breaking Benjamin -- Breath
Reply:The song is called Breathe and it's by the band Breaking Benjamin.

Complete lyrics:

I see nothing in your eyes

And the more I see the less I like

Is it over yet?

In my head

I know nothing of your kind

And I won't reveal your evil mind

Is it over yet?

I can't wait

So sacrifice yourself

And let me have whats left

I know that I can find

The fire in your eyes

I'm going all the way

Get away

You take the breath right out of me

You left a hole where my heart should be

You gotta fight just to make it through

Cause I'll be the death of you

This will be all over soon

Pour salt into the open wound

Is it over yet?

Let me in

So sacrifice yourself

And let me have what's left

I know that I can find

The fire in your eyes

I'm going all the way

Get away

You take the breath right out of me

You left a hole where my heart should be

You gotta fight just to make it through

Cause I will be the death of you

I'm waiting

I'm fading

Realize

Start hiding

You take the breath right out of me

You left a hole where my heart should be

You gotta fight just to make it through

Cause I will be the death of you

Reply:BodyRockers ~~~ Round and Round

You're cool, so fine

Your smile, divine

Your touch, so real

I can't explain the way I feel

Your lips, those eyes

You got me running

Around and

Round and round we go

There ain't nobody like you in the whole wide world

Round and round and round we go

Guess that I'm a sucker for a runaround girl

Blow hot, blow cold

You sell, I'm sold

Silly games you play

Your rules, your way

Those lips, those eyes

You got me running

Around and

Round and round we go

There ain't nobody like you in the whole wide world

Round and round and round we go

Guess that I'm a sucker for a runaround girl

Round and round and round and round and round and round (etc.)

You got me running

Around and

Round and round we go

There ain't nobody like you in the whole wide world

Round and round and round we go

You know that I'm a sucker for a runaround girl

Around and

Round and round we go

There ain't nobody like you in the whole wide world

Song lyrics?

I'm not sure of the name of the song, therefore I'm having trouble finding the lyrics. I'm pretty positive its sung by a Christian rock group. I only know that the first part of the chorus is "you can't break me down" Any ideas?

Song lyrics?
ummm... there are alot of songs with that line in the chorus.... is it played on 106.1 because they have an online radio station.... or you could try giving us all the lyrics you can hear...
Reply:maybe it's Selfish by Stuck in Kaos

i don't think it's christian though..

Well that's fine!

Well that's it and that's the way life goes, no lie

I sit back and I wonder why

I only think of the **** I've done

It's like I'm bleeding my life away

Someone told me one time

If I only love myself, I can't love no one else

But she's wrong cause I really love to hate her

Well I can't admit and I can't see

That I'm always wrong

And I might look back at my life

As one sad song

But its these times I love

When I'm the one that I only think of

When push comes to shove

You better pick up them gloves

Better show 'em no love

And just say,

“PRE-CHORUS”

That's fine

Cause I'm going to get mine

“CHORUS”

You can't break me down

And take this from me

I'm gonna make you bleed

I'm selfish

So that way everybody knows

Whats mine is mine

And whats yours is yours

You can't beat me down

You can't break me down

And take this from me

Its always seem so

That everybody I know

Is a slave to the dough

Full time for the dollar sign

Partners in crime

With you green envy eyes

Don't try to disguise

I see through your lies

I won't be around next round

And this is true

But before I go I want you to know

This shits for you

Well it's a dog eat dog world

A do it for yourself world

And to thy own self be true

When push comes to shove

Better pick up them gloves

Better show 'em no love

And just say, That's fine!

“PRE-CHORUS”

“CHORUS”

I'm bleeding myself dry

I'm selfish, I can't hide

What you see, it isn't me

I'm selfish to you , cause I'm selfish for me

I'll make you bleed

Can't you see

You take my life away

I'm selfish and I'll sing my song my way

I'm selfish, so ******* selfish

I'm only selfish when you take my life away

“CHORUS”

I'm gonna make you bleed

Bleed, bleed, bleed, I'm gonna make you bleed

You ************

again not christian but The Kids Are Quiet On Sharmon Palms by Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards

[Chorus:]

YOU CAN'T BREAK, ME DOWN

YOU CAN'T BREAK, CAN'T BREAK ME DOWN

YOU CAN'T BREAK, ME DOWN

YOU CAN'T BREAK (nah nah nah nah nah nah)

CAN'T BREAK ME DOWN

sun sets on the west side, palm trees block the moon

renegades with switchblades, the end is coming soon

over the car in shackles, breath stinks of napalm

itchy trigger finger and i'm reaching for his gun

[Chorus]

baseball bats swinging, shotguns cut through wood

boys are coming up, we run my neighborhood

it's time to meet your maker, i'm no messenger of god

these kids ain't quiet, these kids on sharmon palms

[Chorus]

"you better watch yourself, it's getting hot around here,

you better look over your shoulder man....YEAH!"

welfare checks are coming, only way to survive

cocaine reps are running, now you gotta stay alive

son you've been mistaken, this is not where you belong

i looked at him right in his eye and said-

that's where your ******* wrong!

[Chorus]

or finally it could be WWSWB by Yesterdays Rising

set free

everything you need to let go

when we speak we breathe

when we breathe we feel

allow me and watch me

lay my thought down right here right now

i can't breathe my speech is slow

i don't know i just don't know

whether or not i will speak

i want to breathe i want to breathe

we are off

and we can't pretend for a second that were clean

we are off

and the path blacking out and its so hard feeling the pain of not breathing

we are off

and we cant pretend for a second that we clean

we are off

and the path will not open until i say go

its hard feeling the pain of not breathing

(when we speak we breathe when we breathe we feel)

its hard feeling the pain of not breathing

(when we speak we breathe when we breathe we feel)

letting the light spread

when the energy is amongst our fingertips

letting the waves crash

when they're able to cause danger

is where we descend

i can break me down

it can break you down

you can't break me down

when we speak we breathe

I hear the words you say to me

I see the way you look at me

I know what's on your mind so

Stand up get up back up now

Just stay away

I know the fear you hold inside

I know what's weighing on your mind

There's nothing you can do so

Stand up get up back up

You're reaching out just to be like me

But you've fallen short

Still you're following me

You had the chance to bring me down

But there's nothing left

So just stay away from me

How do I get started with selling my song lyrics or colaborating with a producer to shop my songs???

I've been writing for awhile, I have many songs and I'm wondering if you guys could help me out. Or if you know any sites where they are buying lyrics.

Try setting up an account with myspace. There is alot of networking to be done there. You can post your music and put it out there for people to hear. I know of alot of bands/musicians who have really benefited from myspace.

Song/Lyrics?

I heard this song on the radio (I believe it was 93.5 kday for listeners in southern California). The genre of the song must be hip/hop or pop. I don't remember much of it except that in the chorus it spelled out l-o-v-e and t-i-m-e. Is that enough for anyone to know what the song is and who its by?

Song/Lyrics?
it's by bonethug n harmony called "lil l.o.v.e." , featuring mariah carey and bow wow

no doubt, it fits your description all the way through.
Reply:I dont know why but I want to say take 6 and the name of the song is I L-O-V-E you....maybe?

Start by going to their website to get contact information of their publicity staff. Write the publicity person a nice letter letting them know what you would like to do and asking how to proceed.
